Editorial standards

People use this site to make decisions about grants worth thousands of pounds and about who to let work on their property. These are the standards every page is held to.

Official sources only

Grant amounts, scheme rules and deadlines are taken from official sources — gov.uk, Ofgem, MCS and the devolved governments’ own schemes — and we link the source so you can check it yourself. Installer credentials are verified on the official registers, never taken from marketing claims (how we check). If we can’t verify something, we don’t publish it.

Dated, and kept current

Grant and cost pages show a visible “last verified” date. When a figure changes at the source, we update the substance of the page — a fresh date on this site always means a fresh check, not a cosmetic edit.

Right scheme, right nation

Energy support differs across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland — a grant available in one nation may not exist in another. Every scheme we mention states exactly where it applies, so you’re never chasing a grant you can’t get.

Facts are not for sale

We carry no advertising. Featured placements are clearly labelled and only affect position on a page — never what we verify, never what a page says. No company can pay to change factual content about them.
